A look back at the NEX Shopping Mall


NEX (Northeast Exchange) is a suburban shopping mall located within the North-East Region of Singapore at 23 Serangoon Central. It is considered the largest mall in the North East of Singapore and one of the largest suburban malls in the country. It is currently managed by the owner itself, the Mercatus Ltd. This was built by the reputable construction firm, Low Keng Huat, and was designed by the SAA Architects.

It has a total number of 7 floors with a total retail area of 600,000 square feet that holds 340 stores and services that has a 19 anchor tenants such as the Challenger, Cold Storage, Food Republic, Uniqlo, Isetan, Din Tai Fung, H&M, Party World KTV, Serangoon Public Library, Virtualand, Anytime Fitness, and a whole lot more.

The mall was built just above the Serangoon MRT station that makes it more accessible to other parts of the city. It is also accessible with an integrated bus interchange that is air-conditioned for commuters’ comfort through the whole ride.

The residents that are within the vicinity of this location, like the upcoming residents of the new Forest Woods condominium or the Cherry Hill or living along the Orchard Property, will definitely love the convenience in this place as it is only a minute drive away from their home to have fun with your loved ones.

This mall was officially opened last 25th November in the year 2010.
